Ranger Travis Report Updated August 19, 2026

Burn Ban in Effect

A burn ban is currently in effect. Ranger Travis is reminding members and guests to review and follow all current fire restrictions while visiting LVPOA parks and facilities. Please check the latest updates before heading out and help us keep our community, parks, and shared spaces safe.

With hot, dry conditions common during the Central Texas summer, Ranger Travis is reminding members and guests to use extra caution while enjoying LVPOA parks, waterfront areas, and other outdoor amenities.

At this time, Travis County is under a countywide burn ban, according to the Travis County Fire Marshal. Outdoor burning is prohibited while the order is in effect. Grills and fire pits with lids may still be used, but members and guests should use extra caution and always follow current Travis County and posted LVPOA restrictions.

Please help protect our parks and community by never leaving a permitted heat or flame source unattended, keeping the surrounding area clear, and making sure it is completely extinguished before leaving. Conditions and restrictions can change quickly, so members should check the latest information before heading out.

Ranger Travis Reminder: A little extra attention goes a long way toward protecting the places we all enjoy.

Cody Park Improvement Project

Follow project updates, construction notices, and important information as improvements to Cody Park move forward.

View project details

Current Project: Post & Cable Installation

A post and cable perimeter is planned around the main grassy area of Cody Park. The boundary will help keep the central lawn focused on foot traffic, casual play, and recreation while reducing vehicle encroachment.

The project follows a similar approach to the soccer field area at Bar-K Park and is intended to create a more defined green space for gathering and play.

Future Improvement: Walking/Cart Path

A future walking and cart path is planned opposite the main road. The proposed path would provide a defined non-vehicle route for walking, jogging, and access toward the boat ramp.

Additional details will be shared as planning for this improvement moves forward.

Board-Approved Study: Restrooms & Playground Expansion

The LVPOA Board has approved a feasibility study to explore potential restroom facilities and an expansion of the playground area at Cody Park.

The study will help evaluate costs, logistics, and available options before any final development plan is considered. Professional input gathered through the study will help guide the next steps for possible future improvements.
